Mini Beauty Haul - Benefit and The Body Shop

Image
Hi everyone! I have been meaning to write a new blog post all last week and this weekend but due to filming commitments, spending time with my family and resting; I haven’t been able to work on a new post.  So, on a trip into town at the weekend, I decided to treat myself to a few beauty products. I ended up splurging out more than I had intended! Oh well, it’s not often I spend the amount on makeup so thought ‘why not?!’ I bought some bags of chocolate to munch on as well which is something I do do on a regular basis.  Firstly, I bought myself the newly released ‘Bang BadGal Mascara’ by Benefit Cosmetics. I was debating to myself on whether to buy the full size at £21.50 or the mini size at £10.50. I decided to get the full size as I thought it would last me longer. I’ve heard good reviews about it and wanted to try it out myself. I recently been using Benefit’s ‘They’re Real!’ Mini mascara and I have been liking it a lot. It has been a while since I last bought a high end mascara and

Wednesday’s Daily Blog

Image
Hi everyone!! So as we are all aware, it’s Wednesday and there’s about an hour left of it. Today has been fun. As per usual, we had my niece for the day.  I got a lovely wake up call off Ciara late this morning who was wanting to see me. She climbs on to my bed and gives me a huge cuddle and kiss. I love it when she’s so excited to see me and it truly moves me. We have our usual auntie niece moment before she leaves to go back to the living room. I stay in bed for some time longer as I typically didn’t sleep very well last night.  My parents had got my niece dressed and my dad took her for a walk to the co-op. She walked to the corner of the fence that surrounds my bungalow and wanted to be put into her trolley as she didn’t like the coldness. It was very cute seeing her wave to us. While she’s gone, I sort myself out in the bathroon ready for her coming back. The next hour or so, I play with Ciara until we have our dinner. I just have a small dinner, I don’t eat much anyway but didn’t

Jamie Oliver’s Quick Homemade Ice Cream

Hi everyone! I feel like I’m repeating myself when I say I can’t believe it’s the weekend already so I’m not!! In this post I want to show you something that I’ve made earlier this evening.  I’m thankful that my dad offered to help me when I said I wanted to make some homemade ice cream and we brought the ingredients last weekend ready.  These are the ingredients I bought; Photography curtesy of Asda.  For all the ingredients it cost me £4.55. They were easy to find in store. I chose to get smaller amounts as I didn’t want to make a huge batch to end up not liking it.  We used two thirds of the cherries, all of the yoghurt and a spoonful of honey. All we did was blitz the cherries and yoghurt in the blender, then add the honey. You may add more of the honey if it’s to your desired flavouring, honey is used to sweeten it.  Then poured the mixture into a Tupperware type of box and laid flat in the freezer for around two hours for it to harden up.  We have these cute little ice cream dish

Thursday Throwback!!

Image
Hi everyone! So we’re on to another week and soon weekend will be here. I hope your week is treating you kind.  In this post I thought I’d give a throwback to one of my visits to Amsterdam. I’ve been to the Netherlands three times over the last four years, my parents been four times with their first visit back when I was sixteen so seventeen years ago. I have problems going abroad on holiday so I feel I can manage just going to places that are around an hour long flight.  It was our first day there on our trip and we got caught in the downpour. I didn’t have anything waterproof and our hotel wasn’t right in the centre.  There was a little local general store near the hotel Amadi Panorama Hotel (which is where we stayed during this particular trip), they had the raincoats and rain hoods. I didn’t mind that they were intended for older people as I just wanted to stay dry! Plus the plastic actually insulated me so I stayed warmer, which is an added bonus for me.  As you can see, I was ver

What Is Osteoporosis?

Hi everyone! It’s me again, and I hope you’re doing okay?! As I work my hardest to raise awareness about Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) across all of my social media platforms and it’s been a while since I went into detail about my health issues. So, I thought it might be a good idea to talk about my different health issues that are all down to the EDS. If you’re new to my blog and wondering what EDS is then scroll back to a previous post from around two years ago and you’ll see what it is. To put it in simple term, it’s a connective tissue disorder caused by a faulty collagen.  In this post, I thought I would talk about Osteoporosis. Growing up I had the odd stress fracture but we always put it down to the EDS. Although I can’t really recall in ever actually broken an actual bone. It was around the age of fifteen when I was referred to the (tba) team from Prof Galasko. Being thin is how I’ve always been and I was a late starter when it came to starting my periods. The team also referred
